What kind of permits are we dealing with in the waste area:
permit to collect waste;
permission to process waste;
permission to collect and process waste;
a permit for the generation of waste, taking into account the collection and processing of waste.
When do you need to obtain a permit:
if you produce non-hazardous waste with a mass exceeding 5,000 Mg per year;
if you produce hazardous waste weighing more than 1 Mg per year;
if you collect waste (remember about exceptions, eg: having a waste collection permit does not apply to: collecting medicines and their packaging by pharmacies, waste generated by their producer, if they are collected at the place where they are generated );
if you process waste, i.e. the activity consists in recovering secondary raw materials in production processes (so-called recycling) or neutralizing waste in technical installations (e.g. by incineration or by appropriate storage).

the application should be submitted at least 2 months before the intended date of commencement of business;

the application for waste collection, waste processing must be accompanied by a fire inspection report, which includes the conditions of fire protection of the installation, facility or part thereof or other waste storage place, agreed with the poviat (municipal) commander of the State Fire Service;
depending on the type of investment, the office may also require a decision on environmental conditions to be attached to the application
The operation of an installation for which the required integrated permit has not been obtained may be suspended by the competent voivodeship environmental protection inspector;
Additionally, the operation of the installation without the required integrated permit podlega karze aresztu albo ograniczenia wolności, albo grzywny.
